What's in a name? I was just walking through the picturesque village of Kalavassos and, in the middle of the square, I spotted a small street with a beautiful old pink building with light blue shutters and a sign saying "The Library Hotel, Wellness retreat". And what do you do then? Curious as I am, I of course went to have a look.
The elegant Library Hotel is housed in a mansion from the 19th century and has been beautifully restored. And as soon as you take the first step inside, you find yourself in another world. Full of style, elegance and luxury. And all the following steps only confirm that thought: in the library, you enjoy a good book in luxurious chairs. At the Mitos Mediterranean restaurant, you eat on tablecloths and get class on your plate. In the courtyard is a stylish terrace and there you will also find the rooms and suites, all named after great writers and philosophers. With lovely beds under high old ceilings, art, parquet floors, marble bathrooms with jacuzzi, soaps and soft towels. From the shared terrace you can access the outdoor jacuzzi and sun beds. And last but not least, there is a luxury spa with wellness baths and massage rooms.
Once back at the reception, my curiosity is of course not satisfied. I must experience this! So I stay, in the Oscar Wilde suite that is. What's in a name? Everything, because books, massages and relaxation are exactly what you will find here. In style. Lots of style.
