After a stunning drive on the island of Corfu, I arrived at Villa Eliá. What a magnificent location with a view that is the stuff of dreams. Just what I was looking for. ‘Welcome, Eliza, have a seat and enjoy!’. All of a sudden, I didn’t have to do anything at all.] The Dutch owners Hennie and Karin brought me a cold drink by the pool. They sat down and told me about their search for this unique location, which they had fallen in love with at first sight. I could see why. The view and peace and quiet are breathtaking. The total privacy with nothing but nature around me and the sound of birds helped me unwind. As if I was all alone in this world. Time to enjoy.
As I was exploring the villa, I recognised the traditional Corfu style with its eye-catching recesses, quirky corners and niches. Antique and second-hand furniture and cute accessories everywhere, all collected by Karin. The location of this villa is perfect: around the corner from cute towns and completely hidden between old olive groves with a view of the green valley, Corfu town and the Ionian Sea. You can even see Albania. A view that never gets old. The garden has a stunning private swimming pool with loungers and parasols and I decided to take a refreshing dip right away.
After some blissful swimming, I laid down by the pool with my notebook. What was I going to do next? Karin had given me lots of great tips. A trip to Cape Drastis, a hike on part of the Corfu Trail and a visit to Corfu town; a great plan to close my eyes and dream away with. After all, this is the villa of my dreams.
Villa Elia's view of the valley and Ionian Sea is simply stunning. The Dutch owners Hennie and Karin adore the water and aren't shy to use their sailing boat. They'd love to take you on a trip and show off the most gorgeous spots on the island.
