Slowly but surely, I wake up and look around. The pillows were extremely comfortable and the palm trees were rocking back and forth. The lemons and flowers were growing in the sun: everything is so beautiful at Isabella Country House. The house is surrounded by a large blossoming garden, the residences are rustic and romantic. I got up and took a refreshing dip in the pool.
As I was floating around, I recalled the night before when I was eating some fish in the harbour of the nearby town of Gouvia with sail boats all around. Hours later, I had returned home to find the most beautiful treat of the day. The garden had been covered in a sea of white paper lanterns. I had grabbed a sweater to admire this romantic sight from the porch of my suite.
’Good morning!’, Angela, the housekeeper, was beaming as always. She fluffed up the cushions in the garden and asked if she could clean my room. ‘I will be right here’, I smiled.
