I was in the harbour of Heraklion with my good friend Manos. After a delicious drink, he asked me where I wanted to go. Before I could finish my thought, I was interrupted by a honking car. ‘Surprise, we are going to the sunny south!’. We got into the car and drove to Ierapetra, the southern-most city of Crete and, in fact, of the whole of Europe. A white house suddenly emerged in the distance, surrounded by nature. It looked like a palace.
The heart-warming owners of Nakou Village welcomed us with open arms. I looked around speechless. The residence has white walls, colourful Greek antique and seats scattered around the place for many hours of gazing at the clear blue sea. The garden is magnificent and I could see the beautiful swimming pool in the distance. I couldn’t wait to see the interior. Everything is white. Such serenity. Colourful antique with modern aspects adds a luxurious feel.
The swimming pool looked very inviting but it would have to wait. It was time to explore Ierapetra together with Manos. The town is filled with cute shops and the cosiest restaurants. I soaked up the Greek lifestyle and couldn’t wait till the next day. Which would be all about relaxing by the pool and enjoying the gorgeous, endless sea view.
