How many times have I visited Crete? I've lost count to be honest. And standing there on the balcony of my latest discovery, I knew it never gets old. This holiday location is surrounded by olive groves as far as the eye can see. I could hear nothing but the rustling of small leaves waving in the wind. What a great setting to unwind.

Before my arrival earlier that afternoon, I had been driving around this gorgeous area when a couple of pink apartments appeared out of nowhere. I had to blink to make sure my eyes weren’t fooling me. What an unexpected sight! The houses are gorgeously situated and feature a comfortable interior. Without hesitation, I enthusiastically approached the reception desk. The friendly lady confirmed there was still a room available.

So here I was, sitting on my balcony. A fresh breeze hinted at the nearby sea. A sigh of happiness. Crete really does have it all. Maybe that’s why it never gets old. The next day, I would ride a bicycle to the beach. I wasn’t sure what to eat at one of the cosy little restaurants in the area that night... Was I in the mood for souvlaki or gyros?

The best way to discover your destination is by car!

Are you booking a flight holiday? Then a rental car of the lowest category (Small Class) is selected as standard for your trip and you have the option of upgrading the rental car. You can pick up the rental car at the airport and drive to your accommodation yourself.
