As I was driving through the green landscape of Kefalonia, something caught my attention: Reginas Villa. I quickly parked my car and followed a natural stone path while inhaling the aroma of lavender and rosemary growing on both sides. Up ahead in the garden, I noticed a stone picnic table and trees with oranges, tangerines and lemons on the hillsides behind the private swimming pool. ‘Wow’, I whispered quietly. ‘Do you like it?’, a friendly voice surprised me from behind.
The hostess smiled as I followed her in across a sunny patio and past a barbecue. Inside, I was astonished once again. ‘What a magnificent spot!’, I exclaimed while absorbing the homey living room and the view of the bay in the distance through the window. The owner Regina pointed at a narrow little path that leads to the cute town of Divarata. ‘That’s where you’ll find some of the most delicious food, but I want to show you something else first.’ Regina led me up the hillside. A picturesque tree hut emerged from the green landscape. What a great addition to this gorgeous little spot!
That evening, I decided to visit Divarata for a typical Greek meal. And the next day, I would rest by the swimming pool. A great opportunity to enjoy the sun and catch my breath. What a remarkable little gem to spend a holiday.
