The mainland of Greece was disappearing behind me as I was crossing the bridge to a remarkable island. I was back on beautiful Lefkas! This green island and the azure blue water of the sea with its snow-white beaches never cease to amaze. If I didn’t know any better, I would think I was in the Caribbean.
The magical golden hour had arrived and I slowly turned onto the driveway of a remarkable location. 31 Blue Ionian Villas, my residence for the week ahead. The sweet owners Dimitros and Anastais were waiting for me and I was very happy to see them. ‘Welcome Eliza, it’s great to have you. The barbecue is ready, you must be starving!’ Indeed I was.
After a delicious meal, I got the key to the stunning villa. The lavish swimming pool with a panoramic view of the surroundings caught my eye immediately. And the loungers had been readied on the patio for some serious relaxation. I wanted to head out the next day, but the idea of spending a day by the pool was difficult to resist.
A sigh of happiness escaped my lungs when I saw the magnificent interior of the villa. ‘This is the Sky Blue Villa. It has three floors just like the Royal Blue Villa. Every villa has three bedrooms with super comfortable queen-size beds and an en-suite bathroom each’, Dimitros said with pride in his voice. ‘The two of you have great taste, everything looks so beautiful’, I answered with a big smile. I was in for a treat!
