I couldn’t wait to get into the clear blue water of Lefkas, one of my favourite things in the world! I was driving to the town of Tsoukalades. Suddenly, I noticed a villa on a small hill in the distance. Was that my destination? Once I realised that the location is right by the gorgeous clear blue water, I couldn’t wait to start my holiday there. It’s all in the name: Acquaterra Villas is situated right where the earth meets the sea. Giorgos, the owner, had been waiting for me. I parked my car and he welcomed me with open arms. I told him how much I loved the location! He said: ‘Eliza, you're in for a treat. Just wait till you see the sunset over the Ionian Sea tonight.’
I decided to unwind in the jacuzzi. What would tomorrow bring? Giorgos recommended a drive over to Lefkada to explore the city. A perfect suggestion as it was only a couple of minutes away! Then I would go and find the town of St. Nikitis for some peace and quiet. And the beaches of Kathisma and Pefkoulia.
No place for boredom on this island! I couldn’t get enough of the stunning view, luxury facilities and cute Greek towns in the area. Not to mention Giorgos’ stories! He grew up in Athens and has firm roots in Tsoukalades. Visiting his birthplace every summer, he would dream of building a home for guests to enjoy the beauty of the island. And indeed: the interior and architectural elements of the villas clearly reflect the local history and culture of Lefkas and Tsoukalades.
