I had read about it once, but never had the image of that 65-kilometer long sandy beach really left my mind. The longest and most pristine white sandy beach on the Greek west coast. And also the "landscapes of unique natural beauty" as the EU calls them, the picturesque villages, fishing towns and Greek treasures I had remembered. Often the pictures pop up again, but this time I said to my good friend Alekos: "Take me to that beach". I'm laughing, because he had told me about Natura Club & Spa, which is in exactly the same spot as the pictures I had formed in my head. Antonis, his wife Aggeliki and their two sons had built 33 beautiful apartments. In an olive grove, with phenomenal sea views. In short: it was time to go.
Antonis and his family used to spend their holidays by the beautiful beaches and one day they thought it was time to swap their busy but successful life in Athens for something different. They built spacious, modern and attractive apartments, all overlooking the sea, because "this view is too beautiful not to look at". There was a swimming pool, with indeed the same view, a bar and a restaurant. There are also some cute turtles running around.
And while I sit here staring at the olive trees and the sea from my terrace, I think of the text I once read. And I can tell you: everything is correct. Thanks to Antonis, it's even more beautiful. Pretty special, but sometimes reality wins out over my dreams.
