One warm summery night, under a clear Greek starry sky, I was taking a walk in the town of Areopoli on Mani, the peninsula of myths and stories. In one of the alleys, I heard whispers about a location as beautiful as a castle just outside the village. A place with natural stone towers, tall gates, a lavish swimming pool and a garden full of flowers. The charcoal oven always on and the aroma of Greek delicacies in the air to welcome you.
As soon as I noticed the towers after a short walk in the greenery, I knew that Ktima Mani is just as stunning as the stories have it. I noticed a beautiful contrast between the light blue balconies and the light stones. I imagined the wife of a Greek sailor standing on a balcony, gazing at the sea, waiting for her loved one to return.
The owner, Panagiota, beckoned me into the room. Ktima Mani is just as stunning on the inside; an authentic interior combined with romantic details. And there is so much to do around here! Would I browse the books in the library and pick one for some poolside reading? Or would I join the hike organised later that afternoon? One thing is for sure: that night I would be enjoying the dishes prepared by Panagiota's grandmother in the wood oven. Ktima Mani is a beautiful Greek love story.
