Strofilia Villas

‘Impatient, me?’ Charis and Vivi laughed and nodded with conviction. ‘Fine, I just couldn’t wait!’, I smiled. I had been chasing these two friendly owners for years. Why? Charis and Vivi had been building four villas at a prime location in the town of Askou Plevra. The views are magnificent and so are the surroundings. Many migrating birds stop at the historic water source here before continuing their journey to the south, and for good reason. I totally get it, which is why I’ve been coming here for years as well.

Charis is a man of precision. He doesn’t rush it, because he wants everything to be perfect and authentic. His liberating call had come the month before. ’Drop by, Strofilia Villas is ready!’ I could barely contain my enthusiasm as the time to admire the Strofilia Villas estate had finally arrived. Despite my extreme expectations, this place exceeded my wildest dreams. No expense or effort was spared in the creation of these four gorgeous apartments. These private homes breathe perfection. From the balconies or by the pool: the endless sea is always in sight. The finish is sublime with natural materials that add a sense of calm and serenity. The interior is typical for the island as well as light, comfortable and cosy. I stopped in the blue kitchen for a moment, ‘or would you prefer red?’, the candlesticks were ready for sunset.

The bedrooms are light with plenty of windows to admire the sea. Pay close attention, I told myself, because wherever you look, there is a detail that catches the eye. ‘Are those stairs?’ The dining table is made of steps and a glass plate. I smiled. ‘Details, details!’, I repeated once again. Charis smiled. ‘Yes, and details take time!’ he said with pride in his voice. And he was right. ‘Time to get comfy in the sun and absorb the surroundings.’ Vivi entered with chilled drinks. Great idea! To sit and look around: that is what I’d been waiting for all this time.
