‘A place to get lost in’, my good friend Costas had told me. ‘The meandering roads dance through a rugged hilly landscape. The azure blue sea peeps around the corner every now and then and you're surrounded by centuries-old olive trees softly rocking in the wind.’ It sounded like poetry to my ears, not in the least because of the name Costas had given this place: Rizolia Villas. Spacious, natural stone villas situated in a beautiful, unspoiled part of Zakynthos. ‘You will get lost in the beauty and space of the gorgeous villas themselves as well.’, he had said laughing.
He was right: our arrival at Rizolia Villas left me absolutely speechless. There are ten traditional natural stone villas, each hidden between centuries-old olive trees. I entered the gigantic villa and began to explore. The gorgeous interior with classic wooden furniture, the serene and stylish white combined with natural stone walls. The traditional architecture, the roofed patio, the balcony, the private pool basking in sunlight, the blooming flowers. I could keep going for hours. I walked out through the French doors. The wind was rocking centuries-old olive trees. Crickets were chirping in the sun. I smiled: getting lost was my newest hobby, I realised as I circled around the gorgeous mansion over the lawn.
