‘A private beach?’ My astonished eyes briefly met those of owner Pauline. In a way, I wasn’t surprised at all. It was clear from the very first moment that the friendly Greek and her husband Tasos had done everything in their power to create a perfect holiday spot. Just the location is already a thing to behold. ‘You can stroll straight onto Psarou Beach from here, Eliza! We can head over there right now if you want?’ I did, and so we went.
Before I knew it, the warm sand was caressing my feet as I gazed at the clear, turquoise sea. I took a couple of deep breaths. Any tension I may have had evaporated in no time in the fresh sea air and warming sun. I was thinking about the tour I had just received. The natural stone cottages with wooden accents boast the genuine Greek character that I love so much. I couldn’t suppress my curiosity and asked Tasos if they happened to have a vacant apartment for the night. He responded with a broad smile and a reassuring wink. Good, because I was not ready to leave this place!

You will find the restaurant at the heart of Porta Del Mar’s enchanting garden. Grab a table by the water because the view is magnificent. The chef can prepare a variety of Greek specialities. Make sure you try the fish. It is sourced straight from the sea and prepared with lots of love. The wine is made by local winegrowers who are friends of the family. Before you know it, you'll be eating here every day!
