Sometimes you find a place that never stops popping up in your dreams. But only in good dreams! I still dream about Alcantara sometimes, a holiday location on Sicily with next-level hospitality...

"Let us pamper you!", Melissa said with a friendly smile. ‘Our mission is to give you an unforgettable week!’. Those were the welcoming words when I arrived at Alcantara, a gorgeous resort, peaceful and situated in a spacious, secluded tropical garden. I was assigned a large room in one of the beautiful villas, decorated in a warm Sicilian style with a private patio. The hotel is elegant and light and the carefully landscaped garden makes for some magnificent strolling. I arrived by the pool with a book an hour later where a towel was waiting for me with a glass of golden Marsala wine and a note: ‘Welcome to Alcantara, bring your dreams into the day!’. I briefly shut my eyes...

"Feel free to join us for dinner!" Melissa must have seen the startled look on my eyes as I was jolted out of my nap. Dusk had set in and I was still by the pool! ‘I’m sure you needed that’, she smiled. ‘Tonight we will be serving our speciality, bistecca alla palermitana. Feel free to join!’, I smiled as I was reminded of the sleepovers at my grandma’s when I was little. The pampering felt quite the same! That day was a beautiful dream, but the next day I would bring my dream out onto the island. For now, it was time to eat. Buon appetito!

The best way to discover your destination is by car!

Are you booking a flight holiday? Then a rental car of the lowest category (Small Class) is selected as standard for your trip and you have the option of upgrading the rental car. You can pick up the rental car at the airport and drive to your accommodation yourself.

Are you booking a holiday with own transportation? Then the rental car is not included in your trip and you can (at some destinations) book the rental car if you are interested. When you book your rental car, you can pick it up at your destination and drive to your accommodation yourself. The transport to the pick-up point of the rental car is arranged by you.
