The mansion that houses Casal di Noto breathes history. The arched doors outside, the authentic wooden beams by the ceiling inside. ‘The mansion used to be where the nobility and farmers from the area would get together for celebrations and festivities. The way it was built, the historic courtyard is at the heart of the estate’, the owner told me. During my first days, I had noticed that people from the area still like to get together here. There is always something to do; from live music to exhibits and from wine tasting to cooking workshops. As much as I love to withdraw to the apartment, I can’t help but join in on the Sicilian bustle every now and then.
That afternoon, I was strolling around the garden filled with palm and fruit trees. I stopped by the pool to absorb the impressive view and was looking forward to the wine tasting later that evening. Not just the courtyard, but the entire accommodation is a social meeting place.
