What better way to describe the ultimate sun holiday in Portugal than with the words of José, my guide during my holiday in Portugal. According to him, it’s all about serenity and space. He is sixty years old and a man of traditions and principles. He proudly showed me around the splendour of his unique country. And he is such a hospitable individual, just like his friends who just won’t let you go without at least one drink. It was inevitable that the first Portuguese word I would learn was ‘obrigada’, which means thank you. A word I ended up using all the time to express my gratitude for all the deliciousness I was being served. Such as delicious wine from Alentejo and Acorda de Mariscos, a fish dish from northern Portugal. After all my trips to Portugal, I still can’t get enough of this unique part of the Mediterranean!
