I love the feeling of the wind in my hair. I had left the coast behind and was driving a scooter through the stunning Portuguese countryside. Suddenly, I heard a loud bang. I stopped by the side of the road and found the problem. A flat tyre! Bummer! What to do? Luckily, I noticed an interesting house at walking distance. I was almost there when a man approached. It was Luis, the owner of the hotel. He knew someone who could help and would give them a call.
Luis invited me to wait at the tea salon of the hotel, where he treated me to some herb tea. He also has all kinds of honey, cheese, wine and jam in addition to many delicious herb tea varieties. All home-made! Delicious! I would be able to taste them all and buy some at the hotel store if I wanted to.
I was enjoying my third cup of herb tea with honey when Luis approached. The tyre had been fixed. Already? My reaction made him laugh. He suggested that I stay for a few nights. It is a hotel, after all. What a great idea! To stay and enjoy their delicious products for days to come.
