I was in the car on my way to Quinta Vale da Roca when I saw the azure blue sea shimmering in the sun in the distance. With the sultry summer wind in my hair, I was listening to Portuguese radio. I couldn’t wait to get there and finally enjoy a relaxing dip in the pool, some beautiful home-made wine and the vibrant setting of Lisbon.
The owner, Margarida, gave me a warm welcome when I arrived. She built this unique holiday location with her husband, a quiet setting where they share their passion for wine with their guests. How great to have you back!’ said Margarida. I felt right at home as Margarida gave me a brief tour of the hotel. We passed the infinity pool and I could barely resist the temptation to jump in. The pool offers such a lovely view of the calm sea. A lounger in a quiet shaded spot drew my attention. A perfect place for me to finish my book the next day.
Margarida told me about the honesty bar where guests are served all kinds of snacks and drinks. ‘This is also where you get to try the home-made wines of Quinta Vale da Roca’, she said full of enthusiasm. The tour ended in my room. Margarida opened the door and wished me a pleasant stay. I walked straight to the private patio to stare at the sea. Cheers to Quinta Vale da Roca!
