After a long, beautiful drive by the coast of Andalusia, I arrived at my destination for the week: Amanhavis Hotel. As I approached the hotel, it felt like I had been teleported to the Middle East. Burkhard, the owner, had been waiting for me and gave me the grand tour of his exotic location. I didn’t know where to look, it felt like I had gone back in time.
Burkhard told me that every room at the boutique hotel was named after a famous or not-so-famous figure from Spanish history. That is why each room has its own unique interior. 'Do you want to sleep in the sultan's quarters? Or would you prefer the alchemist's?' What a great concept. I decided to let Burkhard surprise me. He took me to a room full of warm colours and antique furniture. A true fairytale, and rightfully named after the observatory. The room has a professional pair of binoculars and the bed features a glass roof. I knew what I would be doing that night... Stargazing!
I was in for an enchanting week in Andalusia, full of adventure. And picking Burkhard's brain on all of his remarkable stories about Spanish history. At night, I would dream of kings, stargazers and explorers...
