I squeezed my own arm as I strolled around the estate of Hotel B BOU La Viñuela & SPA. The scenery is so magnificent, I could barely believe I would be staying here. I had arrived at the most beautiful location in Andalusia. Surrounded by magnificent mountains and a breathtaking lake with truly enchanting reflections.
The building that houses the hotel has the style of an elongated hacienda and perfectly blends into the scenery. You get to marvel at the natural surroundings wherever you are, even from the wellness centre. I was looking forward to the delicious breakfast on the patio at the backdrop of the rising sun the next day. Followed by some quality time by the pool with a good book while looking up from time to time to relish my surroundings. Another thing to look forward to was dinner, which would consist of freshly caught fish from the area.
A great opportunity to burn off some calories is to ride a bike all the way around the lake, which I had scheduled for the afternoon. And the days after that would be all about exploring some great hiking trails in the area. I also wanted to visit Comaras, a picturesque white town built on a rock with, hopefully, a nice view of the sea in the distance. Another picturesque town nearby is Almáchar. I was looking forward to strolling around this labyrinth of narrow streets full of flower pots typical of the region. And then to find a cosy little restaurant and let the food speak for itself!
