I do that at Cortijo el Sarmiento. My guesthouse for this week. My 'own' white house. In my ochre room, I put my bag down. For a moment I plop down on the bed, but soon I realise that the outdoor life here is far too beautiful to stay inside. From my room, I walk downstairs with a book in my hand, where beds and large parasols look attractive. Soon I am deeply engrossed in my book while the pool water makes a rippling sound.
I am startled by an enthusiastic "Hola!" from owner Carsten. "Do you have anything to do tonight, Eliza?" He invites me to dinner at the Cortijo el Sarmiento restaurant. "A holiday is not successful without local delicacies, is it? I'll make sure you taste the best Spanish wines from the region too!" I smile and raise my hand. No doubt about it. Tonight I am sitting at the table of Carsten and Yvonne. A wonderful idea! For now, I will let all the impressions sink in. I doze off for a moment. If this is not a holiday...
