Together with my Spanish friend Irene, I am lying by the pool, at a holiday location called Castillo de Monda. Together we are away for a long weekend and stay in one of our favourite destinations: picturesque Andalusia. Gazing at the mountainous landscape, I dream away from reality for a moment. It is pure relaxation here. Castillo de Monda used to be an old castle and was later transformed into an intimate boutique hotel. The charm of the old castle has been well preserved. Everywhere I see details of the old castle, the floors, the walls and the beautiful garden give me a feeling of wealth. I am also close to beautiful Marbella and the fantastic city of Malaga.
One of the three Dutch owners, Arjan, tells me how he and his friends decided to run this special boutique hotel in Andalusia. After the friends visited the old castle together, they immediately fell in love with the place. Together they decided to take up the challenge and moved to Andalusia.
After another dip in the pool, I retire to my own room for a while. The room is spacious and the mosaics on the wall create a cosy atmosphere. In an hour's time I will meet Irene in the restaurant. Owner Jaap will cook a delicious dinner for us. But first I will enjoy the last rays of sunshine on my own little balcony.

When you book your rental car, you can pick it up at your destination and drive to your accommodation yourself. The transport to the pick-up point of the rental car is arranged by you.
