"Eliza," my good friend Mandy had said last week, "we need to spend some quality time together again. At a place where it is so quiet that we can escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Together, the two of us." I looked at Mandy with twinkling eyes. What a great idea! And I knew exactly where to go.
"It is so wonderfully peaceful here." I look to the left, at the sunbed next to mine. From behind her sunglasses, Mandy starts grinning and leans to the side to get her glass of cava, which is on a table between us. We arrived at Finca Natura an hour ago. "This is exactly what I wanted. A luxury finca with a private sauna, a wonderful pool to lie by, only three cottages on the property and otherwise only peace and quiet. In fact, I am not going to say anything for an hour. Let the tranquillity sink in." I have to chuckle a little, but I keep quiet. Instead, I look across the pool to the mountains and vast fields of giant trees.Between them, footpaths lead in all directions. I decide to take a brisk walk early tomorrow morning, when the morning dew is still hanging between the trees.
After a quarter of an hour I look to the side again, straight into the happy face of Mandy. "Eliza, what a good idea this was! But tell me, how are you?" "I thought you didn't want to talk for the next hour?" I reply, smiling. "Yes, but we are also here to spend quality time together. So tell me!" I settle down in my comfortable recliner. High quality time, she means.
