My last visit to Indonesia was a long time ago and I’d love to do it again some time. Asia isn't exactly around the corner though. Luckily, the garden at Casa el Morro on Lanzarote brought back all the memories from that trip. I wasn’t quite sure how.

As soon as I entered the house, the aroma of delicious food tickled my senses. I followed my nose and found the owner, Raquel, in the kitchen. As it turns out, Raquel spent many years living on Bali. When she decided to open a guesthouse on Lanzarote, she knew Indonesia would always be in the back of her mind. That is why Casa el Morro was designed in the atmosphere of what had been her home for many years. Balinese furniture, elegant Indonesian decorations and not to mention Asian hospitality. I even joined her for a yoga class. I'm not too spiritual myself, but what a relaxing experience it was.

Thanks to the remarkable mix of western architecture, eastern interior and Raquel's warmth, this became a holiday to remember. Not to mention the magnificent pool, cute, vibrant towns and the beach just a short drive away. There is no need for Raquel to return to Bali any time soon. She has got it all on Lanzarote. Home sweet home!

The best way to discover your destination is by car!

Are you booking a flight holiday? Then a rental car of the lowest category (Small Class) is selected as standard for your trip and you have the option of upgrading the rental car. You can pick up the rental car at the airport and drive to your accommodation yourself.
