As I drove my rental car higher and higher up the hill, the view became increasingly breathtaking. The green and hilly landscape of Mallorca stole my heart during this drive and I was sure that Agroturismo Alqueria Blanca would do the same. As I made the final turn, part of the little palace emerged up ahead. The tower just breathes history and I couldn’t wait to see it on the inside.
I got out of the car and a sense of total serenity fell over me. I walked onto the estate and saw someone standing by the animals. The man saw me waving and approached. He introduced himself as Pep, the owner. He has lived here his entire life and transformed the building into a series of gorgeous guest residences. He took my suitcases and brought me to my room. Inside, the authenticity matches that of the exterior. With wooden beams, tall ceilings and a traditional interior. The room was magnificent. The luxury, the historic details; I was definitely not in Kansas any more.
Completely smitten, I stood on the balcony to marvel at the surroundings. I noticed the swimming pool in the distance and decided to take a refreshing dive before dinner. The water was perfect and all the tension from the journey left my body. What would I be doing the next day? Pep had recommended horseback riding or renting a bike. I liked the idea, because the area is absolutely stunning. As is everything else...
