My delayed flight to Mallorca landed around midnight. I contacted Mark, the manager at Aparthotel Rural Son Palou. I was worried I might be waking him up, but he was still hanging out at his restaurant with a couple of guests. ‘No problem, I’ll be right there to pick you up!’. Mark drove me to Hotel Rural Son Palou in the dark and we never stopped talking on the way. I fell asleep the second my ear hit the pillow.
When I opened the curtains the next morning, I couldn’t believe my eyes: a view with no end. Rolling green fields, rugged mountains in the distance and the entire scene bathing in the warm morning sun. What a phenomenal panoramic view, as if civilization is thousands of kilometres away. In reality, the centre of the medieval town of Oriënt is just outside the hotel!
Over breakfast, Mark told me all about the immense Son Palou estate, which spans almost the entire valley of Oriënt. The domain reaches as far as the eye can see. I downloaded Mark’s app and set out to explore right away. Developed just for his guests, the app comes packed with beautiful hiking routes!
I was surprised at least once a day throughout my week at Hotel Rural Son Palou. The nature, the silence, the comfy swimming pool, the delicious food. Nothing beats this kind of daily pampering and daily surprises! That’s what Hotel Rural is all about.
