The green and unspoilt island of Menorca still holds many secrets, even for me. My good friend Pablo told me about a very special one: Agroturismo Turmaden des Capita. A place where everything revolves around nature. The owners even produce their own honey! I immediately sent an e-mail to the owners Rafel and Marta asking if I could come and visit. And what happened? They wanted to invite me to come and explore their sustainable estate.
On the way to the location, I enjoy all shades of green. Hills, forests and agricultural fields shoot past me. I wonder if I am already on the land of Turmaden des Capita. The estate is 75 hectares in size. A white building emerges from the greenery. That must be it! Once I arrive at the farm, I am warmly welcomed by Rafel and Marta. I immediately see how passionate they are. This place has a long history; there is even evidence that there was a farm here in the 14th century. Rafel and Marta do everything they can to keep the green heart of this place beating. Marta lets me taste some of the home-produced honey. I am impressed and curious about what else this place has to offer.
Together we walk into the garden and I see the water of the swimming pool shimmering in the sun. A little later, Marta opens the door to my room and I plop down on my bed. The furnishing is traditional with modern details. The white walls give the room a fresh look and the ceiling beams create a warm atmosphere at the same time. A filled picnic basket is waiting for me. Together with Pablo, I go for a lovely walk this afternoon and we enjoy all the treats hidden in the basket.
