The second I arrived at Hotel Rural Senderos de Abona, I was met by its picturesque decorations. I didn’t know where to look. There was something to cheer me up everywhere. Palm trees, large cacti, an old wheelbarrow converted to a planter, wine barrels and so much more. What a great place to stay!
Rural Senderos de Abona is located in an old mansion and boasts all kinds of cosy spots to toast to life or enjoy the sun. The swimming pool is tucked into a cosy little corner. I could definitely see myself relaxing there after a day full of discoveries. In fact, it was so enticing I thought I may even stay ‘home’ for a day. There are plenty of hiking options nearby and I had spotted some comfortable hammocks that would be perfect hosts for my lazier moments. There is a barbecue in the garden and a small bar inside. And should I decide to head out the door, I could always grab my rental car and go to the beach.
Of course, I would stick to the plan of enjoying all the splendour that Tenerife has to offer. On the way to various towns I wanted to visit, I passed the most stunning banana plantations and cheerful flowers, wow! I was headed for the other side of the island, to Playa Bollullo. The sand has a remarkable dark colour and the beach is located in a bay next to a cliff. I couldn’t wait to see all the beauty for myself.
