During my Tenerife holiday, I met Teresa in a small local supermarket near Tierra del Trigo after a long drive in my hire car. As I walked hungrily through the supermarket, I struck up a conversation with a lovely woman called Teresa. She tells me that she comes from around here, has prawns in her basket and is planning to prepare this for lunch. After talking to Teresa for a while, she invites me to her restaurant to eat the prawns for lunch. Of course, I will not miss this!
Once I arrive at Teresa's restaurant, I also see that she has a finca. "Welcome to Finca la Hacienda, Eliza", Teresa says to me. I am amazed, it is a beautiful complex surrounded by fruit and palm trees. I take a seat in the restaurant and soon Teresa arrives with two plates. She prepared a salad with fresh prawns. After one bite, I am sure that these are the tastiest prawns ever. "You have a real talent for this, Teresa! It tastes delicious!" She looks at me with satisfaction.
When Teresa and I have finished eating, Teresa says to me, "If you are looking for a place to stay, you can stay here tonight, Eliza. You are more than welcome!" I don't need to be told twice... Tonight I will sleep at Finca La Hacienda!

When I return from a holiday at Finca la Hacienda, I never dare to step on the scales. Owner Teresa spoils her guests with a real feast and you are not allowed to leave the table until everything is finished. Spanish tortilla, dried sausage and good wine; you will never go to bed here with an empty stomach. When husband Baudillo goes to the port to get fresh fish, he sometimes invites guests. Do not turn down this invitation, as his culinary stories alone make this an experience in itself.
