Agriturismo in the nature of Umbria

Quietly situated between green hills

Umbria, the green heart of Italy, is truly magical. Nowhere in Italy will you find such untouched nature, picturesque lakes, and beautiful villages. Do you want to discover the real Umbria on holiday? Then it is best to stay in an agriturismo. You don't get any closer to authentic rural life. The green hills here are dotted with vineyards and olive groves. It looks like something out of a fairy-tale!

What is an agriturismo?

An agriturismo is a farm that has been transformed into a nice holiday destination in the middle of nature. The farmer is often still being used and you can enjoy all the goodies directly from the countryside. Umbria is known for its special seasonal products such as asparagus, mushrooms, and of course truffles. When you spend your holiday at an agriturismo in Umbria, you will be able to enjoy these products to the fullest. Straight from the farm, to your plate. The owners know a lot about the local cuisine and are happy to help their guests with the tastiest dishes.

Farm holidays in Umbria with a culinary touch

So much to try

Umbria has an ideal climate, which is reflected in the colorful nature of the region. With more than 2,000 hours of sunshine per year, it is also wonderful for viticulture. I certainly recommend the local wines that this area has to offer. With a bit of luck, there may be a special bottle available at your destination

If you spend an evening in the restaurant of your agriturismo in Umbria, you will see the pride of the region on the menu: the black truffle. If they have produced it themselves, it will be incorporated into the dishes in a unique way. A unique culinary experience awaits you! If the chocolate bonbon Baci Perugia is also available for dessert, I definitely recommend you try it. It’s one of my favourites.

If you book a car holiday, you can travel to your destination with your own transport.

If you book a flight holiday with me, it always includes accommodation and rental car!

Go out with a rental car or your own in Umbria

Explore the unknown

Driving through the hills on the left you see the landscape dotted with vineyards and on the right, you see nothing but olive groves. That is what makes a road trip through the green landscape of Umbria so special. Nature is a bit rougher than in Tuscany and walking and cycling are therefore popular activities in this region.

Still, having a car is a nice bonus if you want to make trips. The agriturismo in Umbria are usually remote, so you will cover quite a few kilometers. Having your own car or a rental car makes it easier to visit special villages such as Castiglione del Lago, Deruta, Todi, and Orvieto. Or of course, admire one of the many wineries in the area.
